Chilbolton Cottage was was extended and converted into apartments in 2006 and renamed Royal Winchester Mews.

Phillip Blanchard of Jackson-Stops & Staff said "We have one 2,900sq ft 1930s house, Chilbolton Cottage, which is going to be turned into nine homes. In this case, the house isn't actually going to be demolished: the main house will be split into three cottages, the garage is going to become a little cottage and five apartments are to be built on the back. Without planning permission, the house would be worth £900,000. But it sold for around £1.3 million. The nine units will be worth a total of £2.6 million."
