MONKS HATCH (NO. 15)

The first residents, the Misses Urmston, had lived at 19, St. James Lane in 1911 in a house called Monks Hatch. They clearly took the name of their new house on Chilbolton Avenue from this house on St. James Lane.

No. 15a Chilbolton Ave was built in the grounds of Monks Hatch (to the south) in around 1996.

Monks Hatch was demolished 2019. Replaced by Ashburton Place, a development of 10 apartments and 2 houses.
