Hugh Burton and Jessie Jean Elise Norcott (Residents 1932-1933)

Hugh Burton Norcott was born in 1897 in Singapore. He married Jessie Jean Elise M'Connel in 1923 in Dumfries, Scotland.

Hugh was in the Rifle Brigade and service included time in India around 1921.

​

They lived in Ashton House between 1932 and 1933.

​

In 1932, he made an appeal in the press for information for a book he was writing on the history of the Rifle Brigade.

​

H B Norcott retired from the Rifle Brigade due to ill health in 1943. He died in 1949 in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
